Job title: Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist

Duration: 12 months

Location: St. Louis, MO

This position's starting pay is: $38.00/hr.

The period of performance will be a 12 months base from the date of award with 4 consecutive one-year options.

Scope:

• The Office of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Services, VA St. Louis Health Care System, currently has a shortage of physical and occupational therapists and is in need of 2.12 FTE physical therapists and 1.0 FTE occupational therapists.
• The contractor shall furnish all key personnel to provide services necessary to perform onsite physical therapist services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• The range of physical and occupational therapist services should be as they would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and in accordance with the standards of The Joint Commission, established principles and ethics of the medical profession established by the American Medical Association (AMA), American Board of Physical Therapy, American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), and the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Responsibilities:

• Contractor is responsible to provide coverage during the hours required.
• The VASTLHCS will make every attempt to schedule services with at least two weeks’ notice.
• There may be times when, due to unplanned circumstances, coverage is needed on short notice and the contractor will be asked to fill additional unscheduled shifts within a twenty-four (24) notice.
• Notification and scheduling will be mutually agreed upon between the VASTLHCS and the contractor.
• The awarded contractor’s employees are not guaranteed a 40-hour work week or an eight (8) hour day.

Work Hours :

Hours are listed in Central Time (CT). The current shifts are listed below but are subject to change. The Contractor shall furnish the services covered by this contract on all workdays as defined herein. Contractor may be required to furnish services on all calendar days, to include federal holidays. Actual shift hours may vary between the contractor, the hospitals and by specialties listed on this agreement.

First Shift Weekdays (Monday – Friday) 7:30 am - 4:00 pm 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

First Shift (Tuesday-Saturday) 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

First Shift Weekends (Saturday - Sunday) 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Requirements:

License: The Contractor’s physical therapist(s) and occupational therapist assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license as a physical therapist or occupational therapist in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contractor’s physical therapist(s) or occupational therapists who have current, full and unrestricted license in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily suspended pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.

Certification: All contract providers shall be certified by the American Heart Association and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). BLS certification shall be in accordance with the American Heart Association and Military Training Network requirements in accordance with VHA Directive 1177.
