Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and efficient Prep Cook for Cafe Yoto. The Prep Cook will play an integral part in maintaining exceptional food standards while working in an upbeat, positive environment. At Cafe Yoto we take pride in providing uncompromising hospitality in food, beverages, service, and atmosphere. All employees, regardless of position, must strive every day to ensure all four are performing at the highest level possible.

Prep Cook Responsibilities:

· Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring.

· Desire to learn and better understand new cooking techniques.

· Inform Sous Chef and Head Chef of low stock items.

· Follow prep lists prepared by Sous Chef and Head Chef.

· Ensure all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation are being enforced.

· Collaborate with other team members to maintain a professional and positive environment.

· Accurately label and stock items in an organized manner in the kitchen and walk-in.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience working in a fast paced environment.

· 1-2 years prior prep cook experience.

· Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Cafe Yoto is a new, fast casual Japanese restaurant in the North Loop. Born from Shige Furukawa's high end sushi restaurant, Kado no Mise, sushi chef Yo Hasegawa has created approachable and authentic Japanese cuisine for everyone.
