Job Summary

We seek a passionate and experienced Social Media Manager to join our team and elevate StartX's online presence. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with a strong understanding of social media strategy and a passion for start-ups, founders, Stanford and the Silicon Valley ecosystem. This position could be contract to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute StartX's social media strategy across key platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Create engaging content, including text, images, videos, and stories, that highlights StartX, its founders, community companies, programs and events
  • Manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring social media analytics
  • Collaborate with the programs and admissions team to integrate social media efforts with overall marketing campaigns
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and best practices, particularly in the startup space, the Silicon Valley ecosystem, and Stanford University
  • Build and engage with StartX's community and the Silicon Valley ecosystem, understanding where they engage on social media and the best ways StartX can spread the word
  • Track and analyze social media performance, providing regular reports and insights to the team
  • Explore and experiment with new social media platforms and features to expand StartX's reach

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience managing social media to grow audiences
  • Proven track record of creating successful social media campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong visual storytelling abilities and experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools
  • Passion for the start-ups, tech, Silicon Valley, and Stanford, and a strong understanding of the ecosystem
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
